Scholarship Tips

Before beginning any scholarship applications, it's important to understand the basic requirements for the scholarships you’re considering. Common prerequisites for many scholarships (though not all) typically include a completed application form, letters of recommendation, one or more essays, a copy of your transcript, GPA, and SAT/ACT scores.

Tips to Remember:

  • Review the Guidelines: Ensure you meet all eligibility criteria.
  • Complete the Application Thoroughly: Fill out the application in full and follow all instructions carefully.
  • Prioritize Neatness: Submit typed applications for a professional appearance.
  • Provide Concrete Examples: Use specific examples to address essay questions effectively.
  • Create an Accomplishments Resume: Highlight your achievements and experiences.
  • Avoid Procrastination: Keep track of all deadlines to ensure timely submission.
  • Seek Assistance if Needed: Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you encounter difficulties.
  • Remember Your Representation: Your scholarship application is a reflection of you!
